1.1 The Chair thanked Neil Hamilton and Jack Sargent for their work as Members of the Committee and welcomed Caroline Jones and Jane Hutt, their respective replacements.
1.2 Apologies were received from Caroline Jones, there was no substitute.
2.1 Witnesses responded to questions from Members of the Committee.
2.2 Gwenith Price agreed to provide the Committee with the names of the two health boards taking 15 days on average to reply to a Welsh email, as referred to in the Welsh Language Commissioner’s Assurance Report 2017-18.
3.1 Witnesses responded to questions from the Committee.
4.1 Committee Members agreed the motion.
5.1 Committee Members discussed the evidence received and agreed to:
· Write to the Welsh Language Commissioner, the Minister for Welsh Language and Lifelong Learning and the Minister for Children, Older People and Social Care regarding a number of issues raised during the Welsh Language Commissioner’s session; and
· Write to the UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee regarding an issue raised during the Arts Council of Wales’ session regarding lottery funding.
6.1 Committee Members discussed the consultation responses and agreed who to invite to provide oral evidence for the remaining sessions of the inquiry.
